GeoWeb 2008 Conference was held in Vancouver, Canada, during the week of July 21 to 25 at the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue. Leading companies such as Google, Microsoft and Autodesk gathered at the conference to discuss and present their work and visions for the GeoWeb. Web 3.0, 3D modelling, BIM, geospatial mapping used in the virtual world were discussed. Their application and usefulness to the real world in solving real world issues were also covered. Kimon Onuma, FAIA, engaged the attendees of the conference in BIMStorm, an online interactive urban design collaboration session. Community projects using geospatial interactive mapping model was also presented by I.M.Wansoo which showed how GeoWeb tools enabled environmental communities to collaborate effectively on environmental projects.
