| We reviewed how tradeshows are currently being delivered worldwide and looked at ways of making tradeshows more sustainable. |
 |
| We studied these questions: |
| > |
Do all exhibitors benefit from physical tradeshows? |
| > |
What really needs to be physical? |
| > |
What can be done online to reduce energy use and fuel consumption, and cut down on paper use? |
| > |
What can we do to help exhibitors who suffer from lack of attention and get stuck at the back of a convention hall with very little exposure to visitors? |
| > |
How can we help to maximise the exposure of each exhibitor? |
| > |
Is it possible for exhibitors to minimise the cost of participating in a tradeshow but increase their market opportunity at the same time? |
| > |
How can we help to minimise the cost and work of setting up and taking down show booths for exhibitors? |
| > |
Why must a tradeshow be only in one place at a time? |
| > |
How can exhibitors who sell or provide sustainable products and services have the chance to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability in the tradeshow they participate in? |
 |
Finally, we asked this fundamental question: > Can the tradeshow itself be more sustainable? |
 |
Our answer to these questions:
YES, the tradeshow itself can be sustainable.
Our tradeshow is a HYBRID show : partly physical + partly digital. |

The speaker event which is always well attended by professionals will remain a physical event AND it will be web broadcasted the whole year round so that visitors worldwide can visit the tradeshow and watch the speaker event anytime, anywhere. Exhibitors and sponsors will also be featured in the programme and slideshow at the speaker event.
Physical show booths are not necessary here. All show booths will be online. In traditional tradeshows, visitors are often offered CD instead of printed catalogues in current tradeshows. Visitors collect name cards with the exhibitor contact information and website address.
A collection of heavy volume of catalogues and brochures is no
longer preferred by many of the visitors. Instead if information is available
online, visitors prefer to visit the exhibitor抯 website after
the show. Exhibitors are also directing visitors to get more
information online from their website.

Most professionals are now used to working with computers, and
communicating and searching for information online. They
are often so busy with their work that they cannot find time to go to a
physical tradeshow.

Therefore, the use of a physical convention hall can be eliminated
which will immediately reduce the huge consumption of energy
and fuel required to support the lighting and heating or air-conditioning.
Travelling of exhibitors, sponsors, visitors can also be eliminated.

To provide all exhibitors with an equal opportunity to be featured at
the "entrance" of the tradeshow with no extra cost, we provide a
Featured Exhibitor section on the homepage of our online tradeshow
website. Each time the browser window is opened by any visitor,
a different exhibitor in our data base will be featured. The exhibitor
featured will be on a queuing system based on the date they
become an exhibitor.

This will allow every Exhibitor to have an equal opportunity to be seen as
the Featured Exhibitor at the entrance to the online tradeshow -
a feature that NO physical tradeshow can offer.
